Salzburg Airport is 4 km (2.5 miles) from the center of Salzburg (15 minutes by car) and 2 km (1.2 miles) from the Austrian-German border. Few airports can be reached as easily or as cheaply.
- By Car to Salzburg Airport
Salzburg Airport is easiest reached by car from Autobahn A1, exit Flughafen – an Austrian Autobahn Vignette is compulsory. Drivers without the vignette can use the Innsbrucker Bundestraße B1 from downtown Salzburg or from Germany.
Taxis and several ski shuttle transfer services are available from the airport to Salzburg as well as ski resorts in the region.
- By Bus to Salzburg Airport
Bus line 2 connects Salzburg Flughafen (Airport) and Hauptbahnhof (Main Train Station) up to 6 times per hour in 20 minutes for €1.80 (US$2.65). Bus services are available directly from the airport to several other Austrian towns such as St. Johann and Kitzbühel as well Bad Reichenhall in Germany.
